How long does my background check take to process?

Unfortunately, there is not a cut and dry answer for this question. Most of our County Criminal background checks are completed in under 24 hours, however, as with most other things regarding Background checks, this is solely dependent on the effectiveness of the requested jurisdiction.

How far back do you search?

The typical background check is seven years regarding FCRA law in most states. New legislation has allowed employers to search back further than seven years in regards to the annual salary of the applicant. This threshold is usually set around an annual income of more than 75,000 dollars, however it does vary per State.

How do I check the status or see my report?

If you have received and completed a background check invitation, your status is available to you via the same link used to fulfill the request. If not then feel free to email us at support@presearchus.com for detailed information on your report status.

Do Warrants show up on my background Check?

Most of the time, criminal background checks will present warrants if any open warrant exists, however, it does depend on where the warrant is located, as Criminal warrants are issued by law enforcement, and practices vary per jurisdiction. Alternatively, there is a Wants and Warrants search available that is specifically focused on finding open warrants in most jurisdictions.
